What are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are used to treat wrinkles and UV damage to the skin by speeding up the skin’s natural cell renewal rate, sloughing off the dead and damaged skin to reveal new, healthy skin beneath. They are a popular, safe and effective way to treat wrinkles, damage, dark or precancerous spots, acne (both current breakouts and scarring) and stretch marks.

A chemical solution is applied to the skin that causes damage to the outer layer of the dermis. Contrary to popular belief, nothing is peeled off the skin; the solution stays on. The “peeling” refers to the peeling off of dead skin cells. Side effects range from light redness and swelling to cursting, blisters, and flaking depending on the type of peel you get.

How many treatments are necessary?

The number of sessions required to maximize improvement of the skin will depend on each individual. However most people will require a series of 2 to 6 treatments and can expect to need maintenance treatments in the future. Treatments should be booked 4 weeks apart depending on the severity of the skin irregularity.

Say goodbye to black heads, pigmentation spots and dull skin tone!

When suffering from poor complexion, blotchy skin, wrinkles, or acne, it can adversely affect social and professional relationships. The Chemical Peel treatment is designed to exfoliate the outer layers of the skin, removing and minimizing unappealing abnormalities, revealing the smooth and healthy skin below. A series of chemical peels will help make the treated skin stronger against the harmful effects of the environment!

Chemical peels work by speeding up this process, thus revealing young, healthy skin and helping to shed off the dead cells.

Benefits of Chemical Peels
  • Evens skin pigment
  • Reduces wrinkles
  • Reduces sun damage
  • Minimizes and controls acne bacteria
  • Reduces brown spots and age spots
  • Rejuvenates dull, tired-looking skin
  • Reduces and removes blackheads
What Areas Are Treated?

Chemical peels come in three forms: light chemical peels, medium chemical peels, and deep chemical peels. All chemical peels are typically applied to the face only.

Light chemical peels involve alpha hydroxy acids (glycolic, lactic, or salicylic acid) and are the lightest form of chemical peels that you can get. AHAs are used to treat superficial lines and wrinkles and require little to no downtime. Light chemical peels are not recommended for UV damage or pigmentation issues.

Medium chemical peels use trichloroacetic acid (TCA) instead of AHA and are used to treat pigmentation issues, acne scarring, dark circles, and light UV damage and wrinkles. They can be used on any area of the body and require very little downtime, although redness is common.

Deep chemical peels are the highest grade of peel available and use phenol acid to reach deep layers of the skin and cause ruptures at the cellular level. Deep chemical peels are used to treat coarse wrinkles, deep lines, significant UV damage and dark spots, as well as deep acne scarring.

What is OxyGeneo™?

OxyGeneo™ facials are a great way to revitatlize your skin and restore moisture, youthfulness, skin tone and texture. Overtime, our skin can become sallow, dry, saggin, and uneven from environmental damage and oxidative degradation as well as toxins and pollutants.

Oxygenating facials are a great treatment to have a few days before a big event, trip or wedding! The treatment draws oxygen to the surface of the skin, giving you a rosy glow and an even skin tone and texture. The immediate benefits of oxygenated facials have made them very popular among celebrities.

How Do Oxygenated Facials Work?

Oxygenated facials are the ultimate in hydration treatments, which is why they are best recommended for immediate results. However, as they do not alter the skin at the cellular level, they are considered an esthetic and not medical spa treatment.

They work by hydrating the skin using a combination of atomized oxygen and serums. Depending on your goals and skin type, your technician will apply a combination of carefully selected serums, that could include hyaluronic acid, botanicals or peptides, followed by high-pressurized oxygen that helps the products penetrate your skin.

First your technician will cleanse and exfoliate your skin and determine what your skin type is. Once the serums, or products are applied, the technician will use a small machine that looks almost like an air pump that delivers 90 to 95 percent pure oxygen under hyperbaric pressure.

The treatment feels like a blast of cold air, but you should not experience any discomfort. The entire process take 30-60 minutes.

What Are the Results?

Oxygenated facials are a great way to plump and smooth the skin with immediate results. The pressurized oxygen helps to deliver the serums and products deep in your skin where they can deliver the best results. Oxygen is also a natural antibiotic, which helps to cleanse the skin and, if you suffer from breakouts, will help kill any acne-causing bacteria.

The most important of these being the hyaluronic acid; which helps attract and bind moisture, thereby making the skin appear more youthful and supple.

What is Waxing?

Waxing is a semi-permanent hair removal solution that extracts body hair directly from the root. Waxing is performed by spreading a thin layer of wax over the treatment area, applying a paper strip over the wax and adhering both the strip to the wax and the wax to the skin, and rapidly ripping away the strip and wax against the direction of hair growth.

How Does It Help?

Waxing semi-permanently removes hair from numerous treatment areas. Generally, hair growth will not start again for 4-6 weeks following waxing. Along with providing for a lengthy amount of time before experiencing hair regrowth, waxing also promotes softer re-growth when areas are waxed over longer periods of time. Waxing allows you to experience flawless skin that looks great in anything, helps you feel fresher, cleaner, and more confident, and requires minimal effort from you while providing wonderful results.

What Areas Can Be Treated?

Waxing can be performed on any part of your body that has hair on it. We provide waxing on eyebrows, legs, underarms, bikini line, neck, face, upper lip, cheeks, chin, areola, chest, stomach, back, shoulders, feet and toes, arms and hands, abdomen, buttocks, and other areas upon request.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen-induction therapy, is a semi-invasive procedure that has been used effectively for decades. This treatment can help treat wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, age spots, acne, rosacea, and pore size.

The results? A total rejuvenation of the skin with improved tone and texture.
Microneedling involves a hand-held device consisting of tiny surgical-grade needles designed to puncture the skin. The needles create small holes in the skin’s surface. Much like pixel laser resurfacing, microneedling works by activating our skin’s natural healing abilities. New cells are created at a rapid rate and collagen production is increased to “heal” the small injuries to the skin, thereby smoothing and toning the overall appearance.

What is the treatment like?

Microneedling can be uncomfortable, but it is not painful. The sensation is similar to a quick sting or small bug bite.

A topical numbing cream can be applied to the skin to ease discomfort. Hyaluronic acid serum may also be applied to help the microneedling device glide over the skin. A typical microneedling session lasts approximately 60 minutes.

Results are seen after a few days with full results after two weeks, and most patients require three to six treatments administered once a month, depending on the area treated and the results you are trying to achieve.
